RE: The tariff classification of a mixture used in the manufacture of beverages from Belgium.
Dear Ms. Heyburn:
In your letter dated November 21, 2022, you requested a tariff classification ruling.
The instant product is a substance known as Additive B. It is a chemical mixture that will be used in the manufacture of beverages. Additive B is a processing aid which does not give the finished beverage any nutritional qualities or improve its other characteristics.
The applicable subheading for Additive B will be 3824.99.9397, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for Prepared binders for foundry molds or cores; chemical products and preparations of the chemical or allied industries (including those consisting of mixtures of natural products), not elsewhere specified or included: Other: Other:
Other: Other: Other: Other: Other. The rate of duty will be 5 percent ad valorem.
